Penn State made the cut on Christmas Day as California high school quarterback Jaden Rashada narrowed his list of favorites to 10.
And, if he does make it to Happy Valley, he’ll likely already have a NIL deal in hand, as the announcement of the college favorites was the second time Rashada made the news in less than a week.
The first time?
According to an article in The Mercury News, Rashada “signed a four-figure deal to promote the Athletes in Recruitment app” via social media.
âI was already running it as a recruiting business when I talk to coaches,â Rashada told ESPN. âThey give me $ 200,000 in education, so it wasn’t much different. It was just a few other things to learn.
Preparation athletes in California can sign NIL agreements in California. They currently cannot do the same in Pennsylvania.
Approvals aside, the 6-foot-5, 190-pounder is ranked as a Four-Star player in the Class of 2023 by 247Sports. The site makes him the fifth best quarterback in the country.
Rashada also ranked Washington, UCLA, Arkansas, Oregon State, Oregon, Auburn, Oklahoma, Arizona and Arizona State in his top 10.
