Area Nonprofits Receive $643,208.76 From #GivingTuesday in 2021 | News, Sports, Jobs

The Portage Health Foundation (PHF) is proud to announce that $443,208.76 was donated to 22 local non-profit organizations this year for #GivingTuesday. PHF added $200,000 to that, bringing the total to nonprofits to $643,208.76.

The Portage Health Foundation has now led five years of #GivingTuesday. During this period, more than $1.9 million has been disbursed to not-for-profit organizations through the program. In 2021, donations increased by $48,694.48 (12.3%) compared to 2020.

Giving Tuesday is held annually on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving, and the widely recognized Black Friday and Cyber ​​Monday shopping events kick off the holiday season and inspire people to work together to improve their local communities and give back. in an impactful way to the charities and causes they support.

Nonprofit organizations were invited to apply to partner with the Portage Health Foundation this fall. -up-to-date financial data available, must not be a religious or educational institution, have a mission related to the areas of interest of the Portage Health Foundation or raise funds for a specific project related to these pillars and the organization must be domiciled in Baraga, Houghton, Keweenaw and Ontonagon Counties.
