Austin Sanders named new head wrestling coach at Pepperell High School

Pepperell High School (PHS) is thrilled to announce Austin Sanders as the new Head Wrestling Coach!

“I am delighted that Coach Sanders is leading our wrestling program. I had the opportunity to coach and teach Coach Sanders while he was at Pepperell High School. He is a person of great personality and has the work ethic and determination to continue the recent success of our wrestling program, ”said PHS Director Jamey Alcorn.

Coach Sanders graduated from Pepperell High School in 2009 where he was literate for four years in football and wrestling programs. He received a wrestling scholarship to the University of the Cumberlands in Kentucky where he wrestled for two years. He graduated from Western Governors University with a BA and is certified in Special Education.

“It was an absolute dream come true to be a part of this program as a wrestler, assistant coach and now head coach. I have so much love for this program, this school and this community. We have a great young team that can do great things. I’m excited to continue to make a difference on and off the mat in the lives of our student athletes, ”said Sanders.

Austin Sanders has been an assistant coach for the PHS wrestling team since 2011 and is currently a special education teacher at Pepperell Middle School.
