Governor Walz announces “Children deserve an injection” vaccination incentive program

According to a press release, the program consists of two rounds of incentive rewards. Anyone between the ages of 12 and 17 who starts and finishes their vaccine series between October 18 and November 30 will receive a $ 200 Visa gift card. And to all Minnesota teens across the state: Get your full shot and try your luck for a $ 100,000 college scholarship. ”

The “Kids Deserve a Shot” program is designed to encourage adolescents to get vaccinated and to increase vaccination rates among adolescents. According to the state, only 50% of Minnesotans ages 12 to 15 and under 60% of Minnesotans ages 16 to 17 are fully immunized, the lowest vaccination rates of any eligible age group.

Minnesota College $ 100,000 Scholarships and Experiment Drawings: All Minnesotans ages 12 to 17 who have completed their COVID-19 vaccine series at any time can enter for a chance to win a $ 100,000 scholarship from the Minnesota College. The State of Minnesota will host five raffles of $ 100,000 for five students to attend any public or private non-profit higher education institution in the State of Minnesota.

Children 12 to 17 years old must receive both doses of the COVID-19 vaccine before they are enrolled in the drawings. All Minnesotans 12 to 17 years old who have completed their two-dose COVID-19 vaccine series at any time in 2021 are eligible for the draws.

Minnesotans who participate in the $ 100,000 Minnesota College Scholarship Designs will also be entered to win other fun Minnesota experiences. Details of the Minnesota experiment design will be announced in the coming weeks.

Parents or guardians must register their child aged 12 to 17 before the registration deadline to be eligible for the following drawing (s). Once a child is registered, they will be included in all subsequent drawings. The draws will be conducted by the Minnesota State Lottery.
