high school student wins Corsicana ISD greeting card contest | News

Chloe Childers, a creative student at Corsicana High School, has been announced as the winner of the Corsicana ISD 2021 Holiday Card Contest.

The designs were submitted to art teachers across the district, and the selected artist received an award and recognized as the official greeting card designer of ICAD.

“There were so many fantastic entries for this contest. We have received submissions from our elementary campuses to our high school. I appreciate the participation of art teachers and parents who involved their students, ”said Aimee Kasprzyk, Director of Fine Arts at ICAD.

Childers is in his final year at Corsicana High School and does his work under the guidance of art teacher Professor Collins. “We have accepted all artistic mediums, allowing students to embrace their creativity. It was exciting to see the talent of our students, ”explained Kasprzyk. “Its detailed illustration is what sets it apart from other submissions.”

Dr. Frost, Superintendent of Schools and Board of Trustees, recognized Childers’ design at the December 6, 2021 board meeting. She received a gift card and a framed illustration of her design. The final illustration will be used as a design for the maps distributed by the CISD central office.
