Lee High School security guard charged with sexual contact with student

MADISON COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) – A Huntsville City Schools employee was arrested Tuesday night and charged with having sexual contact with a student.

According to online records, Gregory Lankford, 57, is a security guard at Lee High School.

Lankford was released around 9:16 p.m. Tuesday night on $2,500 bond.

Huntsville City Schools spokesperson Craig Williams released this statement Tuesday morning:

The municipality is aware of this arrest. The safety of our students is paramount and the individual is on administrative leave pending relevant investigations. Additionally, the individual will not be permitted on any HCS campus until investigations are completed. Although HCS is not free to share more information at this time, the district and school administration will work with law enforcement to resolve this issue.
