MaxPreps Top 25 high school football scores: No. 9 Chandler beats Saguaro 31-21 in top two teams clash in Arizona

The only MaxPreps Top 25 matchup of the week featured No. 25 Dutch Fork (Irmo, SC) hosting No. 3 St. Frances Academy (Baltimore) on Friday and the Panthers picked up a 26-7 victory. The Baltimore powerhouse improved to 4-0 and clinched their 12th straight victory. The Panthers travel to Hawaii next week to face Kahuku on September 30.

9 Chandler (Arizona) overcame a 14-0 first-half deficit to beat Saguaro (Scottsdale, Arizona) 31-21 in a 2021 Open Division State Championship rematch. Wolves improved to 4-0 and Ohio State’s five-star commit Dylan Raiola threw for two touchdowns. Junior running back Ca’lil Valentine scored twice, giving him 10 total touchdowns this season.

11 Westlake (Austin, Texas) won his 44th consecutive game with a 35-20 victory over rival Lake Travis (Austin, Texas). The Chaparrals trailed 10-7 at halftime but edged the Cavaliers 28-10 in the final 24 minutes.

No. 12 IMG Academy (Bradenton, Fla.) overcame a 19-6 first-half deficit against Central (Phenix City, Alabama) and beat the Red Devils 41-26 to win their third straight game after a season-opening loss to No. 4 Central (Miami).

1 St. John Bosco (Bellflower, Calif.) won his last nonleague game of the season before the start of Trinity League action Sept. 30 in Servite (Anaheim). They beat Central Catholic (Modesto) 65-0 to move to 5-0. The Braves beat their first five opponents 242-28. 2 Mater Dei (Santa Ana, Calif.) was inactive this week and will face JSerra Catholic (San Juan Capistrano) ahead of an Oct. 7 showdown against St. John Bosco at Santa Ana Stadium.

The only MaxPreps Top 25 team to lose to an unranked team was No. 18 Grayson (Loganville, GA) who lost 24-14 to Lowndes (Valdosta, GA). That leaves room for two teams to join next week’s national standings after defeating the Rams and No. 25 Dutch Fork (Irmo, SC).

Three MaxPreps Top 25 teams are in action Saturday with Dillard (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) at No. 4 Central (Miami). No. 13 Bergen Catholic (Oradell, NJ) hosting Don Bosco Prep (Ramsey, NJ) and No. 24 St. John’s (Washington, DC) at Central (Springfield, Mass.) will also take place on Saturday.
