HONG KONG – The number of mainland Chinese higher education institutions participating in the Hong Kong Student Admissions Program will increase to 132 for the 2023/24 academic year, the Education Bureau announced on Thursday.
Compared to last year, three additional institutions will participate in the admissions program. They are: Beijing Science and Technology University, Beijing Jiaotong University and Zhejiang University of Communication.
The 132 institutions come from 21 provinces or municipalities and one autonomous region on the mainland, the EDB said in a statement.

The minimum admission requirement remains unchanged – a total score of 10 or more in the four major subjects (Chinese Language, English Language, Mathematics and Liberal Studies) of the HKDSE exam, and of which none is lower than 2.
Interested students can log in to the designated website to apply online from March 1 to March 31, 2023, and review and confirm the application verification results by April 10, the spokesperson said. Students who provided additional information as requested by the system can log in and view verification results by April 23.
Those who have passed the application verification must pay the application fee of HK$460 by April 30. Later, mainland institutions participating in the program can arrange interviews based on the application information submitted by students.
Participating institutions will announce admission results at the end of July 2023 and will arrange additional registrations depending on the registration situation.
According to the EDB statement, eligible students from Hong Kong enrolled in undergraduate programs at designated mainland institutions can apply for a means-tested grant or a non-means-tested grant under the scholarship program. continental university studies.
