NAAC Grants “A+” Status to Govt Degree College for Women Begumpet

The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) has awarded Government Degree College for Women (GDCW) Begumpet an “A+” status in the fourth round of re-accreditation. The college is the first government institution in Telangana to accomplish this feat earning a rating of 3.5.

“GDCW Begumpet has continuously improved its quality over time and moved from a B to an A. It is a proud moment for us as we are the only institution in the state to receive this prestigious accolade,” said said Dr K Padmavathi, GDCW Begumpet Principal.

NAAC accreditation is helpful in advancing the college and staying ahead in the competition of providing quality education. The NAAC is an independent institution of the University Grants Commission (UGC) that conducts the evaluation and accreditation of institutions of higher learning.

“The A grade was awarded based on a number of criteria, including research, infrastructure, teaching and learning methodologies, assessment, innovation and governance,” said Dr. T Annie Sharon, coordinator of the internal quality assurance cell, in a press release.
