PINE BLUFF, Ark. – Class was canceled Friday at Pine Bluff High School, after several students were arrested following a big brawl on campus.
Staff said things were going so bad that the school had to enter a lockdown scenario.
Some parents have said they are worried and one says she is taking her children out of school until she knows it is safe.
“I asked her to contact me and say mom, you have to come here,” Teresa Rivera said.

“There was one right next to the library, a brawl near the dining room and there was also one near the desk,” Martinez said.
His grandson, a school student, explains what he has seen since the start of the school year.
“When school started, there were almost twenty fights at school.” says Marco Martinez.
Police said 11 students were arrested for disorderly conduct, all under the age of 18.
District Superintendent Barbara Warren released the statement saying what happened is unacceptable and will not be tolerated.
The Friday staff tell me that they had a meeting to “improve” their safety and security plan, which the new plan will be in use from Monday.
“My ninth grade student comes home laughing about it, saying ‘oh there was a fight today, oh, well there were three fights today,” Teresa Rivera said. .
she thinks the fights could be gang related, and sometimes the fights have gone from the school to the streets where she lives.
Rivera says she is afraid for the safety of her three grandchildren… and that they won’t go back to school unless something changes…
