UTSA Named Best Employer in Texas by Forbes | UTSA today | UTSA

UTSA’s dedication to excellence in higher education is reflected in its workforce. Faculty and staff are committed to improving the student experience, with the understanding that higher education serves as a gateway to new opportunities.

Over the past two years, UTSA has gathered valuable insights through its first campus climate survey of faculty and staff, as well as through follow-up focus groups and conversations. As a result, significant work has been done to create comprehensive plans that address corporate and division-specific initiatives. Work continues this fall as the university develops action plans to respond to faculty and staff feedback that will help make UTSA an even better place to work.

“The Forbes ranking is a reminder of everything we have done – and continue to do – to make UTSA a great place to work,” said Mary Hernandez, Acting Associate Vice President for People Excellence. “Through our ongoing campus climate planning, we have made significant progress in supporting our faculty and staff and in better recruiting and retaining new talent. We are committed to continuing this important work in the years to come. »

UTSA currently has over 6,500 employees, including faculty, staff, and students. As the university continues to grow, the focus on campus climate will help support a growing workforce. This fall, nearly 100 new full-time teachers were welcomed into the Roadrunner community.
